For my birthday, my amazing friend Brianna bought us a spot in a seminar at our local Honeybee Centre, to learn how to make natural lip balms and salves with the beautiful and glowing Bianca!
I hadn’t seen Brianna in quite a while and immediately jumped at the opportunity to spend the day with such a generous soul.
Brianna writes a very inspirational blog called Cruelty Free Me, where she takes the time to research, test, and review 100% cruelty free beauty products. For those of you thinking of, or already taking the plunge in becoming 100% cruelty free, this is definitely the blog for you! It also goes without saying that she is a beautiful soul inside and out!
When we arrived at the Honey Bee Centre, Bianca immediately greeted us with her big smile and led us into the room where we would begin our lesson. She had set up a table with all of the needed supplies to make these amazing natural products. As we listened, we realized how knowledgable Bianca was about the effects of commercial/chemically-laced beauty products and the importance of using completely natural alternatives instead. She also owns her own company called Dirt Simple where she creates and sells handmade natural beauty products.
She was so kind and open to any questions and told everyone where she buys her natural ingredients.
We were each given two sheets of paper. One for the lip balm recipe and the other for the salve. Bianca used beautiful ingredients such as coconut oil, shea butter, honey, lavender oil, peppermint oil, red raspberry seed oil, castor oil, the list goes on.
I’m going to be honest and say it took a lot of willpower to wait for the lip balm to harden before using it but boy was it worth the wait! Both the balm and salve turned out beautifully and I can’t wait to make some myself!
It is so amazing what Mother Earth has to offer and what we can learn from choosing a more natural lifestyle.
